Today in Geek History

1922 The BBC is founded to establish a nationwide radio network in England. I thought they were founded so I could watch Dr Who and Monty Python.

1931 Inventor Thomas Edison dies in West Orange New Jersey. Supposedly, the Henry Ford Museum has his last breath in a test tube next to Walt Disney's Head.

1985 Nintendo debuts the NES to indifferent US retailers, by 1995 it had sold over 60 million units worldwide. Bet the retailers all jumped on that bandwagon after they saw them numbers.

2009 W00tstock is born and a generation of geeks rejoice!
