Today in Geek History

Today is Sunday October 23rd. Today in Geek History...
1877 Nicolaus Otto, Francis Crossley, and William Crossley (related? hehe), are granted a patent for the first internal-combustion engine to burn gasoline in a piston chamber. (US Number 197,047). They also invented the Sunday Drive. Oh yeahhhh....
1910 In Fort Wayne, Indiana, Blanche S. Scott becomes the first woman to undertake a solo airplane flight, reaching an altitude of 12 feet. Jump up and give her a high-five. Reach for it now.
2001 5 GB iPod is released for $400. RIAA calls it a fad. I heard that on my podcast.
