Today in Geek History

Hey y'all. How was your weekend? Mine was way too short. Anyways...

Today is April 29th, and today in Geek History...

1951 The Thing From Another World is released.

1955 Kate Mulgrew, aka Captain Catherine Janeway of Star Trek Voyager, is born today. She is also the first, and so far only female Captain in the Star Trek saga. Here's a tip: If you're going to watch Voyager, watch the first two episodes, then skip to the second season. The first one was like a trail with a LOT of error.

1963 Bruce Harwood (Lone Gunman John Fitzgerald Byers on the X-Files), is born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Today in Geek History

Hey Blog. Happy Monday. Welcome back to the "Heck"-hole you call work. We missed you.

Today is January 16th and today in Geek History...

1969 Soyuz 4 and 5 preform the first Soviet spacecraft docking, transferring cosmonauts between vehicles.

1995 Star Trek Voyager premiers with the double-episode "Caretaker". FYI: If you ever watch Voyager, watch the first 2 episodes (Caretaker only), and then skip the first season. It makes it better. But you don't have to take my word for it.

1998 Emil Sitka dies. A long-time foil for the 3 Stooges, he was one of only 2 actors to work with all 6 stooges. Does anyone know the name of the other actor to work with all 6 stooges? I posted it on my blog in a Geek History entry. Find it.

Today in Geek History

Today is November 19th and today in Geek History...

1953 Robert Beltran Star Trek Voyager's First Office Chakotay is born.

1963 Terry Farrell DS9's Jadzia Dax is born. Honestly, I think Jadzia is a better Dax that Ezrie. And the actress that plays Jadzia moved on for BECKER. Not a grand choice if you ask me.
