Today in Geek History

Hey folks. I think I've got the perfect giveaway for you to earn. Today is June 8th and today in Geek History...

1949 The novel 1984 by George Orwell is published today. It's a hard read but I still recommend it.

1955 The inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Timothy John Breners-Lee (try saying that 5 times fast) is born today in London England. That's right Al Gore, you did not invent the internet. Where would we be without the internet these days?

1984 Ghostbusters is released today. It was produced by Ivan Reitman. Who ya gonna call?

1998 Sliders moves from Fox to SciFi. Fox really screwed up that show and it did NOT end well.

2007 Astronaut Steven Swanson brings the Firefly & Serenity DVD into space. They now have a permanent home on the International Space Station.
