1975 Larry Fine of the 3 Stooges dies in Woodland Hills California after suffering several debilitating strokes.

1978 Kristen Schaal, known for playing Mel in HBO's Flight of the Conchords, is born in Longmont Colorado.

1984 Apple Macintosh first goes on sale with 128 KB RAM for $2,495. That's $4 less than today's Quad-Core. (Tweeted by @thinkgeek)

1952 Mandy Patinkin, Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride, (and also Alien Nation), is born in Chicago Illonis. "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

1956 Iain Softley, director of Hackers is born. Apparently no one knows where. Most people think London England.

1974 Lucy, a 3.2 million year old human ancestor is discovered in Ethiopia's Mar Depression. Nothing witty here. The first person that can tell me how Lucy got her name gets a prize. No cheating now. Google is not your friend in this case.
