Today in Geek History

Happy Cinco de Mayo folks. Today we celebrate the day the Titanic went down, causing thousands of cases of Mayo to be lost. Mexico was going to be the next stop after New York, but of course, it never made it. That's why Mayo does not have a strong base in Mexico as a condiment. Happy Cinco de Mayo. Hehe.

1943 Original Python Michael Palin is born in Seffield England.

1955 Melinda Cuela, best known as Amy Amanda Allen of The A-Team is born in Western Springs, Illionis.

1961 Mercury Freedom 7 carries Alan B Shepard Jr, the first US Astronaut, into space in a suborbital flight. Yeah for space stuff!

Today is November 28th and today in Geek History...

1950 Ed Harris of Apollo 13 is born in Englewood New Jersey. Many of you that saw the movie will know him as the guy with the new vest. Actor pictured below.

1981 Weird Al releases "Another One Rides the Bus" Parody of Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust." Odd fact for ya. If you are doing CPR and need to keep your compression in time, Another One Bites the Dust is in perfect sync. Just don't sing it out loud. You'll get some odd looks. Also, Staying Alive is good for compressions too.

1983 Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-9) Carries the EAS Spacelab-1 and its crew, including the first two non-NASA astronauts into orbit.
