1947 John Ratzenberger, (Cliff Calvin from Cheers, also a few Superman movies, Empire Strkes Back, and Toy Story) is born today.

1967 The Star Trek TOS episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" airs. Most fans think this is the best episode of all time.

1957 The guy that played Jimmy Olsen in the original Superman films, Marc McClure, was born in San Mateo California.

1966 Soviet Luna 10 is launched. It's the first artificial satellite to orbit the moon.
