1937 Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars films), is born in New York, New York.
1947 John Ratzenberger, (Cliff Calvin from Cheers, also a few Superman movies, Empire Strkes Back, and Toy Story) is born today.
1967 The Star Trek TOS episode "The City on the Edge of Forever" airs. Most fans think this is the best episode of all time.

1958 Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice, The Hunt for Red October and 30 Rock) is born in Amityville New York
1959 David Hyde Pierce star of Sleepless in Seattle, Crossing Delancey, Nixon and Hellboy is born in New York.

1727 Sir Isaac Newton (they guy with the apple tree, the laws of motion and gravity,) dies in his sleep. He was 84.
1957 The guy that played Jimmy Olsen in the original Superman films, Marc McClure, was born in San Mateo California.
1966 Soviet Luna 10 is launched. It's the first artificial satellite to orbit the moon.
