1944 The man who will eventually play Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, Peter Mayhew, is born today.
1946 Andre the Giant, the wrestler, and the man who plays Fezzik in The Princes Bride (INCONCEIVABLE!!) is born in France. FYI: The Princess Bride is based on a book, AND it's the abridged version too. Imagine who much longer it could be. Go read the book guys.
1955 Java creator James Gosling is born in Alberta Canada. Imagine what you would not be able to do without this guy. It's so sad really.
