1626 Sir Francis Bacon dies. He created The Scientific Method.

1830 Today would be the 182nd birthday of Eadweard Muybridge. He's a British photographer that pioneered work on animal locomotion. Google has a tribute to him on their page. Check it out.

1860 The first known recording of a human voice is made by phonautograph. But they couldn't figure out how to play it until 2008.

1954 Dennis Quaid, who co-starred with Martin Short in Innerspace, is born in Houston Texas.
